I grew up in a rural Missouri, fishing small farm ponds and streams for a variety of fish. I learned early on that bass were by bar my favorite to catch, with their aggressive nature. But it wasn't until a friend invited me to join him in a bass tournament, in 1997, that I realized the excitement that fishing in competition brings. After a few tournaments I cashed that first check, from placing in the money, and I was hooked for life.
I am self employed and own a cabinet shop in Clinton. It makes my family a good living, and I'm proud of the work I produce.But...when tournament season comes, my business takes a backseat to practice days and tournaments.
I've become familiar with many of the lakes in the mid-west, and have had some form of success on every one I've frequented.
I have been fortunate, and feel privileged, to have served as pro-staff for a couple tournament trails over the years, such as Team Supreme and currently Joe Bass Tournament trail. Doing this has allowed me to meet many anglers and I want to say I hold them all in the highest regard. Feel free to say Hi tome when you walk up to the Joe Bass scales this year!
Some of my biggest tournament successes include-
2001 Shriners Bass classis Truman Lake- 1st place (Cobra bass boat)
2005 Spinal Cord society benefit tournament Truman Lake- 2nd place (John Deere 4-wheeler)
2007 Anglers in Action Championship Bull Shoals- 1st place (Charger bass boat)
Numerous wins in the following tournament trails:
Woods and Waters Team tournaments
Superbass tournaments
Team Supreme tournaments
Best of the Best tournament trail
Bass World Sports tournaments
Anglers in Action
And too many 2nd, 3rd and 4th place checks to mention.
I'm happy with where I am in my fishing career, and am looking to further it by moving on to some of the larger national trails in my future.
